I don't know how hot it gets, but keep in mind that Hardware Monitor should work with the Mini, and it will tell you how hot it gets.

I just oredered a 1GB stick from "newegg" last night, and the price was down to $159.00 (from $162.00). The next best price I have found so far has been MDS. They want around $190.00 per GB.
