I have the G7 mouse and it works fine. I've used it on my old Powerbook and my new MacBook. I downloaded USB Overdrive to assign the function buttons but left and right click worked immediately.

I know for a fact you can't use a MBP adaptor being magsafe and all but I've been able to use an iBook's adaptor on a Ti and a Albook and vice versa.
