I was hoping that 2008 being a UB it would run a lot more smoother than office 2004.

If you are a hardcore gamer I'd suggest the razer mice. They just are the best out there in my opinion. While your at it may I suggest trying out Steermouse and USB overdrive.

I agree. For Macbook owner the VX Revolution might be more useful. I own one myself and I really like it. It can be used as a desktop mouse also if you have smaller to medium hands in my opinion...
