Actually, I couldn't... I did attempt to, using the www.me.com/move site, but when I entered my @me.com account info it said that my account is an expired trial that can't be reactivated. So...

I'm glad I found this thread because this is the exact scenario I'm dealing with. I too contacted Apple last night, via Express Lane chat for MobileMe and I actually got quite a different response...
