Looked at the new offering and couldn't see switching from my dual 800. For my needs, the new speed in the 4x Superdrive would be useful. I don't think I'll switch until I see speeds in the 2GHz...

Resetting the firmware:
1) Boot into the Open Firmware. (Command + Option + O + F)
2) At the command prompt, type "reset-all" (without the quotes).

Procedure seems to have solved my problem....
