I have a 9500 and a 9600
8300, 8100, 7300 and 7600.
I got them all from my employer.
They are replaced systems.
The 9600 has a sonnet 300 mhz upgrade card.

Your powerbook is fine depending on the speed.
Get the ram maxed and try it. You may save a lot of money.
Besides the portability!
The hard drive is much slower on the book.
