One thing, though, you don't have to specify "user@host1" for the local machine, just use the path to the file:scp...

sftp and scp are pretty much the same, as they both go over the SSH protocol. They're both just as secure as SSH, but for some reason sftp is really slow... I'd definitely use scp. :)
