I just removed all the RAM and replaced it one by one, no go. I also replaced the original CPU with a G4/450 ZIF upgrade; zilch, nothing. Any ideas here?

Just an update. I took an extra HD out of my QS(used to be in the B&W)with OS X on it and switched it with the one in the B&W. Still no chime, only power-up with the HD spinning. I don't think...

If the OS X CD came with your iBook, I'm not sure you can use it with your iMac; I believe that the OS install CDs are hardware specific aren't they? Unless of course you've already done it. ;)

How is it a 'dumb move'? It is a totally new OS and we get the opportunity to watch its transformation, as well as still having a very reliable OS in 9.1.
