That would work although it won't be that quick (plus depends what you would be using it for). You could try rdc and connecting your macs using ip over firewire to get a faster (supposed) 400mbits...

yep, I've seen that too, on a bondi when I installed panther - fine at 800x600 but wavy lines at 1024 x 768. It went away when I increased the base vram from 2mb to 6mb.

Can't say why you are getting that problem as I've only used ffmpegx to convert audio when I ripped using ac3 instead of mp3 by mistake.

You may find it easier to do you divx .avi files using...

Hmm, first off try it with the supplied ethernet cable - your mac does not need the cross over cable. Also, what is serving your ip addresses? The eyehome is set for DHCP, so check that it is picking...

I'm trying the ffmpegx app and in the tests so far it is perfect :) The video passthrough option works fine (it sticks a .mp3 on the end of the file name but by replacing it...

It depends on which protein WU you are crunching - on my xp2600 using the graphical client on protein 921 I'm looking at 16 hours, my iMac 800 is about twice that.
