I found (using my powerbook G4) that 1gb of memory was nearly enough, about 75% of the time. If you're just using your machine casually, safari, mail, ical it should be less than 1gb memory usage.

The PC Card is supposed to be slightly faster than a usb2 card reader but if it locks up the machine then the USB2 card...
