I'm speaking of the Donald, of course.

Who had this to say about John McCain...

Trump: He’s a war hero because he was captured. I like people that weren’t captured.

Romney: Trump shot himself down. McCain and American veterans are true heroes.

Trump: Why would anybody listen to [Romney]? He lost an election that should have easily been won against Obama. By the way, so did John McCain!

OK, just for the record, McCain was fighting a war and almost died in the crash when he was shot down. Then there's the 6 years of being a POW in North Vietnam, with the occasional torture, and so on. The Donald seems to miss that part, and the fact that McCain was the ranking person and not only had to put up with all the horrors visited upon himself, he had to lead the others. He was quite successful at that. Oh, and I don't think Mr. McCain has gone bankrupt, not even once, let alone on a massive scale with other people's money, the way Trump has more than once.

So the whole "win/lose" thing is pretty much lost on Trump. "Should have easily won" that election? With Sarah as his running mate? Seriously?!?!?!

OK, what else ya got, Donald? 'Cause what you've used so far has been totally lame...

Trump's never gone bankrupt personally, just two of his companies. One of my companies went bankrupt once (Ch 11), it happens, it's not to be taken frivolously but that's what those laws are for.

His comments about McCain are absurd, the man was a POW for God's sake. However, I've never quite understood the "hero" label for them. Dakota Meyer is a hero, Kyle Carpenter is a hero, Audie Murphy was a hero (that little SOB was insane, had balls the size of church bells), they all risked everything for others, usually several times, against their human nature for self-preservation. Just doing what it takes to survive isn't particularly heroic. My grandfather is one of my heroes, he was an example of a good, decent man, but objectively he wasn't a hero, in the broader sense.

Not sure if I ever mentioned that one of my great uncles was a POW in a Japanese camp during WW2, he just happened to parachute into the wrong place at the wrong time and was captured, and he did what he did to survive, despite beatings and starving. Otherwise, there wasn't very much to speak of about the guy, in fact he was kind of a d-bag and used his POW status after the war to take advantage of the system whenever he could, if I had a dollar for every time he used it to get free drinks at a bar...

Anyhow, I think Trump is interesting to watch. He's all wound-up like a mechanical toy and it'll be fun to see what he does next.

Well, there's something to be said for having the testes to say it out loud, even if it does make him a gigantic shitbag.

McCain has done very little as Senator. DC is full of ass canyons on both sides of the isle. Trump is just trying his best to control the subject matter being discussed. Politics is show business for ugly people. I just want to know who gets the shoes when that house falls on Hillary.

I hope he runs as an independent, since he likely won't get the (R) nomination. We need this shit for the whole election season.

You misunderstand. I saw the 2012 debates, where he was a fool. A year later he suddenly starts wearing glasses. It's plain as day that it was PR inspired image rehabilitation. People equate glasses with intelligence.

No, I do understand. He's an idiot who has just recently decided that either he no longer can get by on Good Hair alone and that glasses won't hurt his "good looks," (so he can now actually read his notes, teleprompter, etc.) or he's bought into the PR. OR both. Either way, he adopted the glasses some time after returning from the campaign trail, and has been looking like an idiot in glasses ever since... Remember, he got lots of press for shooting a coyote while jogging in Austin (but somehow not a citation for discharging a firearm within the city limits, which is most definitely a violation of city ordinances), and most of it worked FOR him.

The glasses are just an example of how someone went from the most powerful (yet least understood) job in Texas government, the Lieutenant Governor, to being the "image guy" in the governor's mansion - through GW being elected president - and how poorly he did with the "image" job.

I will never forget this:
Multiple former Hutchison advisers recalled asking a focus group about the charge that Perry may have presided over the execution of an innocent man — Cameron Todd Willingham — and got this response from a primary voter: “It takes balls to execute an innocent man.”

Yeah, that makes no sense. Trump may actually plan to "save money" by gutting the military (and doing even worse to military retirees than the current bozos have already). Trump was an "I'm in college/I'm not healthy enough to serve" non-draftee (erhem "evader" erhem) for Vietnam, while McCain has at least actually served with honor and distinction.

I'd be fine putting up with Sarah "I can see Russia from my house" Palin as Veep in exchange for not having to even think about the Donald as prez. (She can't, by the way; there's like almost all of Alaska between Wasilla, AK and Russia, but that's beside the point.)

Perry is still under indictment for official corruption. He's been charged with using his gubernatorial powers to defund a program run by a county DA who refused to resign after a DUI arrest. The back story is more complex than that, but it's not a clear cut "bad DA needs to go" by a long shot.

An appeals court just dismissed one of the two charges against him - the lesser one. Here's a good recap of the current status of Perry's legal woes.

I posted this before. Despite the Koch brothers personally being more wealthy that Soros. He spends as much as they do. The Koch brothers lead on lobby groups, while Soros leads on funding 527 groups.

Couple of points:
1. That takes place before Citizen's United
2. For 2012 Soros gave more individually. 2014, the Kochs.
3. That is based on individual donations – the $900 million number alluded to in the picture is based on the budget the political network the Koch brothers run.

If George Soros funds and manages a political network of equal monetary proportions, I'm all ears.

The analysis has declared him Trumpenstein. FNC is getting killed by its own creation.

They further declare everyone who was on that debate stage Trump has locked up an almost guaranteed Republican loss.

In unrelated news, Perry is out of money.
