Everyone likes getting something for nothing, especially when there's no or relatively few catches. Freebie Friday is the post where the MacNN staff find stuff you can make use of this weekend, without spending a penny. In this edition, learn how to take better photographs, edit images, start your own website, listen to Johnny Cash, and occupy your time with some free console games.

If you have bought a DSLR or another expensive camera, and want to get yourself out of "Auto," try out the Photography Course and Certification offered on MacNN Deals. Ten on-demand lessons are offered, explaining the finer points of aperture, shutter speed, light metering, color temperature, and other important aspects of photography. Aside from helping you get the most out of your camera, you will also receive a certification proving you completed the course.

Taken some images and need to retouch the photo? Astropad Mini allows you to use an iPhone or iPad as a graphics tablet for your Mac, allowing you to make edits with your finger or a stylus instead of using a trackpad or mouse. The app is free in the App Store.

Last week, we pointed you in the direction of music by Frank Sinatra. This week, it's a similar deal for Johnny Cash. On Google Play, you can get Playlist: The Very Best Johnny Cash Duets as a free download, with the album including a total of 14 tracks.

If you subscribe to one of the membership schemes associated with the major consoles, both Sony and Microsoft have revealed the latest free games that can be downloaded by their users. PS Plus subscribers can get Super Meat Boy, Broken Age, Unmechanical: Extended, Chariot, KickBeat, and Kung Fu Rabbit free this month for the PlayStation consoles. On Xbox Live, Games with Gold is providing Tomb Raider, Valiant Hearts, and The Walking Dead: Season One on the Xbox One, while Xbox 360 owners can download Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes and also The Walking Dead

Do you have ambitions to start a website of your own? MacNN Deals is offering six months of web hosting from Doteasy. This package includes 100GB of SSD storage with unlimited data transfers, email accounts, hosted domains, and MySQL databases, along with FTP access, a website builder, and other hosted apps. Normally, this bundle would cost $72 for the period.
