I just did a clean install of Panther 10.3.5 on My Powerbook G4 and absolutely NO SOUND...

no apple start up sound, no web sound, no cd sound, no sound through earphones...I've tried it all, nothing at all????

So, I did a hardware check with my install cd, and I got this error for the Logic Board (CPU & Cache):

21ss/15:0x40

I just bought this slightly used, so I have no warranty, am I screwed? Help! I'm new to Macs!

Thanks,

Kitty

That is an error that requires a new logic board. I'd contact the seller about it.

Is the logic board the mother board?

If it's less than a year old (or 3 years if it has an extended warranty) it's still covered, second hand purchase or not.
