i have (1,2,3.........6) 6 people coming over for dinner tonight and i have zero idea as to what i should make. i think the biggest problem is that 1 person is a vegetarian, so of course we all have to suffer because of the one odd individual.
any suggestions?

I was gonna suggest spaghetti, but it would be pretty nasty without meat.

hehe.. I'm kind of an anti-low-carbs person..
How about some seafood, some meat, and some veggie. Don't forget some french bread.

A nice eggplant parmagiana would be delicioso.
Marinara sauce (meatless Italian tomato sauce) is traditional for such a dish and would make everyone happy. Keep some sauce on the side and throw some dead animals in it for your carnivore friends, they'll appreciate that even more.

ha, we had that last night and it was really good.
i think i'll do a baked ravioli in a mushroom alfredo sauce, with steamed veggies, pasta salad and bread. i'm sure my guest will bring interesting creations of their own. or whiskey.

What about dessert? Or is that the "whiskey" part you speak of?

i have found in the past that most guests, unless instructed otherwise, bring dessert. and knowing the crew thats coming over, at least one of them considers whiskey dessert.
the ravioli was just vetoed by the girlfriend. i want ziti she says. damn.... and i was all excited for the ravioli. oh well.

Ziti is excellent. I made some for a party I hosted a few months ago, and it was delicious.
If you're interested, the recipe I used was from Epicurious. Here's a link

What's ziti when it's at home? I assume simply a particular pasta shape?

Make Taco Salad. Use the fake meat, just season it with taco seasoning. I'm not a veggie, but I eat this dish all the time at my friends house, it is good. Add cheese, tomatoes, avacado, olives, onion, lettuce, salsa, and crushed up tostitoes. Mix in a bowl and chomp. It is very yummy.

Kick the vegetarian in the face.
Serve them a bodybuilding meal for dinner (something different). One can of tuna (3/4lb. fresh if you got the money) for each guest, 1.5 cups of oatmeal (heated, in water), 3 hardboiled eggs (no yolks), a shot of Flax Oil, and a few tablespoons of natural peanut butter spread across no-salt, whole wheat crackers. Oh, and 24-32oz. of water to drink.
