hi all:

in OS9 i used to have a ram disk on my desktop for my IE disk cache - this made surfing a lot faster (revisiting pages i'd been to before).

does anyone know of anything similar i can do in OS 10.2.1? surfing now feels like i'm stuck in molassis (with a 56k modem).

thanks, posthumanus.

Read the man page for hdid. Look at the ram:// option. This will allow you to make RAM Disks on Mac OS X and is what I do for BootCD's RAM disk.

Ticking sound coming from a .pkg package? Don't let the .bom go off! Inspect it first with Pacifist. Macworld - five mice!
