Hi,

I'm the proud owner of a Storm Mercury 200T. I am thinking of giving it a G3-Upgrade.
In the EveryMac.com Database it is listed as an Alchemy-based Clone and there are some upgrade cards for it.
But to make sure, I phoned the company (Storm), who are now selling network periphals, and the me that the Mercury-series is NOT upgradable since the Processor was soldered on the board.

so, what to do now? Any suggestions or experience?

thx,
Peter Pan.

Does it have an L2 slot? the 5400, 5500, 6400, 6500 series of macs have their chip soldered too but a few companies came out with L2 G3 upgrades that would work for them. I'm not sure if they would work for your computer though. Just a thought...

This computer is upgradeable via its cache slot. Sonnet and newer technolgy make L2 chache upgrades for this machine.
