Hi there,
I have just purchased a iMac 24`, the computer have a 500GB hard drive inserted. For some reason, I can not partition the hard drive. I want to split the volume into 3 parts, but on the stuffs under the volume scheme and volume information remains grey, so no change is allowed. However, it seems it does work for my 250GB external hard drive.
Please help, cheers
Nathan

You have to boot off the DVD to partition your harddrive. You cannot change the volume you have booted off, obviously.
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.

Unless you want to install another OS X version or Windows, don't partition your hard disk. And if you want to install Windows you should use the Boot Camp assistant to create the partition.
