Well in my iPhone theres a usage meter on how long since my last charge, how many hours it's been used etc and this is a very important tool to monitor battery progress and maintain long and healthy battery life. This is weirdly absent in the iPad's software...any reason why?

Anyways, does anyone know of a good reliable app via the App Store that does this feature? (Preferably iPad optimized)

And is there a usage meter present in the iPad 3G perhaps? (And no I'm not talking about AT&T's monthly data usage)

Thanks in advance!

How does it help you maintain a long and healthy battery?

I must agree with the original post. I was looking for this the other day and could not find it. I think that he is referring to discharging your battery completely every so often for battery health. I am pretty sure on the laptop line it is suggested to do once a month or so.

There is a little bit more info about it here:

I also mean also that it can show you the state of your battery. Because I also want to know if my battery is really lasting as long as it should and is advertised.
