I've been meaning to ask this for a while but have been forgetting. My friend's PowerMac has developed a strange login trait. If you attempt to log in but for whatever reason put in the wrong password/typo/what have you, you get dropped into the console as if you typed >console for a user name. It can be reproduced and thus is not just a random fluke. I haven't found anything in Knowlege Base regarding the issue but I may have been looking for the wrong thing. Anyone else have this problem? Help would be much appriciated.

The only reason I know of is bad drivers installed with a webcam called source-forge ( unless he has a server and has been messing wiht Netinfo settings)

He may need to upgrade the drivers from http://webcam-osx.sourceforge.net
