Bob Keeshan died Friday morning.

I know it's inevitable, but it seems like all my childhood heros are dropping. The guy from Sesame Street, Mr. Rogers, and now Capt. Kangaroo.

Rest in peace, Bob. You made a difference.

If this post is in the Lounge forum, it is likely to be my own opinion, and not representative of the position of MacNN.com.

These are the true heros of children.

- Captain Kangaroo
- Mr. Rogers

They did make a difference.

Anyone else know what an incredible life
that Mr. Rogers lead? He as prolific, and a
genius. A truly amazing human being.

Oh my god, that has to be the saddest dialog in the history of sesame street. I was two at the time, so I guess I don't remember it. I do remember Mr. Hooper though...

I was too young to have seen that episode, but reading it brought tears to my eyes.

And Mr. Dressup. I don't know any Canadians who didn't grow up watching him.

You know, it's been a few years but we shouldn't forget about Jim Henson. He made puppets cool, and monsters loveable.

Captain Kangaroo was my favorite childhood show. Loved the "Manfred the Wonder Dog" cartoon on it and the ping-pong ball showers.
