Hello,

I've just bought an iCurve for my 12" PB. I think that it is excellent, apart from a niggling feeling that running the hard drive and superdrive at an angle might damage them - is this a problem, or am I just paranoid?

probably just paranoid. that is purely based on the fact that so many people use an icurve with no problems. plus laptops are kind of designed to be used at different angles and on un-level surfaces, like your lap.

You can't damage it in any way from running it at any angle.

look at the fw drives that are at a right angle (like the lacie).
everything (hopefully) is soldered on or locked in place.

be as upside down as u like!

Thanks for the reassurance - I'm paranoid because I'm just coming out of a six week debacle with Apple service - I really don't want to deal with them again if I can help it.

Considering you are getting air circulating underneath and around the laptop, you're likely extending the life of it as it will run cooler on an iCurve or the like than flat on a desk.
