I just got VPC 7 running and was wondering about the state of themes on XP... I looked around and all I could find was dark Matrix/Blade Runner futuristic styles that have no "life" to them. Themes like Avengers look great, but they seem cold and impresonal to me.

My all time favorite theme for the Mac is GUiPod. It's usable, different from the standard theme enough, and the orange highlites give it a little "life".

Is there a good theme for XP that fits this? One that has the Start menu on the bottom? Can I switch it back to the bottom? What's the best themer?

Thanks,
Chris

VPC7 is nice, but I need more RAM... I have a G5 with only a gig; so if I'm doing anything on VPC7, everything crawls. Otherwise, it's zippy. I have on all the effects (like fading and ClearType) and it runs at a reasonable speed. About as fast as my shitty PC at work. Can't wait to see how well it runs when I get more RAM. But what's great about it is that I have 2 screens and run VPC in full screen on one monitor; so it's just like I have a Mac and PC next to each other that I can drag and drop inbetween... I do all my browsing in Safari so that I don't pick up random adware and all the other crap that comes with using Windows. Only browse on the PC when I need to browser check a website.

I drudged through WinCustomize, but all the themes suffered from the same problem I listed above. I thought people here might have a nice editorial opinion of some themes that fit my description (like that "Guilty Pleasures" thread).

GUiPod doesn't translate as well when I look at that screenshot. The theme that catches my eye is the white BBX AlienGUI (I think I must like light themes).
