Hey all,

Considering buying my MacBook from J & R. I am in CA - so no sales tax....Looks like shipping is free and 1-2 days to ship.

Amazon would charge me tax I think...so seems I should get it at J & R. Anyone have any bad Mac buying experiences with J & R?

I haven't had any trouble with J&R for consumer electronics purchases, assuming you're sure Amazon charges you sales tax. I think you could go all the way through with the purchase until the confirmation screen to check.

As a local, I can further affirm that J&R's a great shop. Enjoy.

Thanks folks.

I may try that Amazon idea. I heard there were $100 rebates. I am nearly certain I get clipped for taxes there tho.

pretty sure amazon doesn't charge sales tax to CA. Here's from their website:

"Items sold by Amazon.com LLC, or its subsidiaries, and shipped to destinations in the states of Kansas, Kentucky, North Dakota, or Washington are subject to tax."
