I have been using my MBP for a little while now no problems at all. today when I started up everything was reset. like I never used any of the programs before. all my file bookmarks and addresses are gone. all my programs are still on the computer and my dock hasn't changed. I am wondering if this has happened to anyone or have heard of this. Is the a way to recover my info from before so I don;t have to do it all over again.

random restarting is most certainly bad ram. even programs as memtest won't find errors, but you'll see that going back to the store and have your ram replaced is the fix.

ive found that when removing the battery, my mbp does not reset itself...and that it only happens when my battery is in and im jacked in at the same time. funny thing is my battery doesnt fall into the replacement program .

ive also tried resetting the pmu, but this new procedure makes no sense to me, anybody care explaining how to reset the pmu? i used to remember my clock being reset when id reset the pmu on my old 12" but that doesnt seem to be the case when i reset the mbp's pmu.

popped in different ram the other day, and poof...no reset yet. weird how the ram never caused issues on my imac cd and is working just fine in the macbook its in now. would anybody think that the mbp needs higher quality ram than the consumer lines?
