Hi, I am considering getting a Mac Pro. I have never used raid set-up before so I am a complete noob. I was wondering can you put 2 x 150gb Raptor 10,000rpm in a Raid 1 set-up ( I think thats the copying one ) and then add 2 x 500gb drvies in a Raid 1 set-up. Then adding them in a Raid 0 set-up to get a total of 650gb with the 150gb Raptor acting as a booting drive with the 500gb for movies and music. Would this work and would I see any advantage to using this kind of set-up? Any comments are welcome Cheers.

P.S Can I also add a normal drive in the second optical drive for booting into Windows? Cheers

No, you can't stripe together two different sized mirrors. And I really can't see why you would want to.

Yes, you can put an ATA drive in the second optical bay for Windows.
