I'm trying to install Garage Band on my 2002 model eMac. The machine meets and or exceeds all minimum requirements for GB, per the Apple site, yet upon installation, of GB, I get a message saying that "Garage Band cannot be installed on this computer"
Specs: g4 700mhz, 256mb ram, os X 10.3.9, 40gb HD (about 2/3 vacant) Quicktime 7, itunes 7.
I bought this mac primarily to use Garage Band, which won't run on my g3 imac 333.
Please let me know if I am missing something.
Thank you.

What version of GB are you trying to install?

I think it is version 3. I'll check back, though (I'm at work and so, am on a PC...)
Are there earlier versions that will run on my eMac?
Thank you.

Possibly, but frankly, your machine is underpowered for almost anything on Garageband.

Version 3? Is that a really early version? It might be too old for 10.4.

Version 3 is the current. You need at least 1 Gb of RAM to run GarageBand well at all.

I'll try installing Garage Band 1.0 this weekend, and let you know.

Sorry for the delay,
I installed GB1 on my emac 700 g4. it was a bit of a hassle; I had to immediately install the 1.1 upgrade from Apple, but now, I'm Jammin!
