If you're telling the truth, you answer once. If you're lying you tend to repeat yourself. How many times has Billy Joel told us that he didn't start the fire?

It gets me especially suspicious that Billy Joel gets so defensive about the fire, often adding that he tried to fight it but he didn't light it. And I am certainly not buying his excuse that it was always burning. Something has to start the fire.

Billy is claiming though that they didn't start the fire. I think he's claiming innocence for the whole band. It may not be all-inclusive though. Perhaps he did start the fire, but the band wasn't in on it.

He seems to be rather proud that when they're gone, the fire will still burn on and on and on... I think you might be on to something here.

Well, he claims that "it was always burnin' since the world's been turnin'". Surely there are records of the fire burning before he was born then…
Being in debt and celebrating a lower deficit is like being on a diet and celebrating the fact you gained two pounds this week instead of five.

The records were burned up in a fire unrelated to the fire Mr. Joel speaks so flippantly about.

11 or 16. The liar.

Speaking of Billy Joel, I saw Jimmy Barnes playing at some random wharf in Queensland the other day. I always mix the two up so it seemed appropriate.

More telling to me is when he says "JFK, blown away, what else do I have to say?", and proceeds to say a whole bunch more anyway.

You sh*tting me? That would be Fisherman's Wharf. I look down on it from my work. My friend works there and was there that day. The other day Pink came in. Unfortunately it was Thursday so no one but the staff was there.

I remember when that song was released. Maybe not the exact day, but I remember the first time I heard it shortly after it was released.

Haha, yeah, that's the one - we just went over there to grab some food. We walked in just as Khe Sahn started playing and I remember thinking "wow, this is a really impressive cover band", then realised it was actually them. Pretty funny really.

And a pretty damn nice view to have from work... o_O

Nah, not anymore, unfortunately; I just went up there for a party in the Q1 basically A few mates of mine work and live in Surfer's and before the lease on the place is up, decided to spend a week or so there.

It's got me half-tempted to move there though... such a damn nice place.

Like that's not the most suspicious thing you could have said.

It's this one: YouTube - We didn't start the fire - Billy Joel
