This is kind of a weird question, but I have a very specific size I like to view to the window when the one selects Macintosh HD. In other words, when one selects the Macintosh HD icon from the desktop a icon pop-ups with Applications, Music, Documents, Pictures, Library... I change it to a certain size because I like to view it that way. Is there any way that I can change it so the screen pops up into that size every time I select the MAC HD?

Just resize it to the size you want it to be then close the window before going somewhere else.

What you have to do is resize it to the size you want, then click around inside the window. So resize it, the click on applications or something, click on an icon in the sidebar, make about 5 clicks. Dragging it around your screen doesn't hurt either. That should do it. It is one of the most idiotic things about OS X.

That's strange when I click on Mac-HD then resize the window without clicking anywhere on it, close it, then reopen it it reopens to the size I set it to. Or are you talking about Leopard here & not Tiger.

All this clicking and moving around business is baloney.

• close any open Finder windows
• open just the one window you want to adjust
• chose view and size
• close window

seriously.. just navigate around for like, 5 minutes... maybe put it to the size you want twice. I find I have to give it 3 tries and on the 3rd, it sticks.
