Where is Native Blu Ray on the Mac? Apple doesn't have to release new models for an update.. just a BTO option on their current models. I know the OS supports Blu Ray for file storage but how about the option to play Blu Ray Media? What is so hard about that? Is it really that hard to do?

I think the problem is the DRM part, which needs to extend to the CPU, memory and GPU.
IIRC, Apple would have to completely redesign their boards.

BluRay will come when it pleases Apple; I think they'd rather have people get used to the idea of buying/renting from iTMS because that's more profitable to them.

BluRay's DRM (AACS and BD+) doesn't require any hardware DRM on the CPU/memory/GPU/board; Apple used to include more DRM related hardware (TPM) than they need to play BluRay, but they've since abandoned it. It's just a software issue (aside from actually having a BluRay optical drive).

Ok, thanks.
I agree with you that Apple really would like to boost their iTMS Sales.
That might be part of the hesitation.
