Hi all, just thought I'd post this for reference. I have a 1 1/2 years old MacBook Pro 2.2Ghz. Recently it would just show a blank screen on boot. It seemed to get to the login window (I could hear the keyboard volume buttons) but nothing else. After several reboots it did start normally but after a while the problem was back. The computer was out of warranty but I took it in for repairs anyways. Today I received a call: the logic board has to be changed. But guess what, it's an Apple recall so I don't have to pay for it. If you have the same problem, just go right ahead and get it fixed for free! Could this be an issue with the hot-running 8600GT ? Who knows...

peace
