Well Im a college student and I read a lot of pdfs and everytime I open up I have to close the sidebar and resize preview app to read them. I was wondering if there was a way to automatically set a size for preview app to open up at, close sidebar automatically(I know cmd+shift+d), or maybe even a way to make a keyboard shortcut to resize an app to a specific size. Any help would be awesome.

I gave up on doing that and got PDFView, which will open at whatever size you set it last time.

Ok the best thing todo is in Preview-preferences>PDF check Use scale of "set to 200", Respect screen DPI & under Greeking threshold set to 3 & check Anti-alias text & line art it's also best to check sidebar for Table of Contents.

Now when open click-on sidebar icon in toolbar to close then quit Preview & restart you should not see sidebar anymore. The settings above should give you a larger view of any PDF you open respective of it's document "should open fullscreen-large text.
