Morning,

I was trying to activate some devices yesterday from behind a fairly vicious firewall and web filter system. Apple says to whitelist certain apple.com subdomains and a couple of verisign.com domains in a KB document but despite blanket whitelisting all of apple.com and verisign.com on the web filter and ports 80 and 443 not being blocked on the firewall in the first place, I could not activate any iOS device from inside the network. I could load the iTunes store, but activation requests were timing out with a fairly generic iTunes error.

Taking my bag of devices to a less regulated network allowed me to activate them all very swiftly. Does anyone know a what else I should have whitelisted or ports I should have opened? I might have to do this again in the not-too distant future with 120 devices in one hit. Can't find anyone else online who has had/solved this problem yet.

I have plenty of more important things to do, if only I could bring myself to do them....
