Okay, I'm on vacation and I am blanking out on how to rebuild the Desktop in OS 8.6. Can someone refresh my memory.
Thank you

Nevermind...It finally occurred to me to use the help built in to the system (as I said I'm on vacation...brain turned off) and discovered it is apple+option.
Sory to bother you guys!

It's much better to use the free version of TechTool: http://www.micromat.com
Why? Because TechTool deletes the current desktop files and creates new ones from scratch.
So? If your desktop files are corrupted, the Command-Option method may make things worse.
Other applications can do this as well:
Conflict Catcher
TrashDesktop

On the other hand, I've used the Delete Desktop routine from within TechTool Pro and had it cause corrupt icons which I fixed using the old keyboard restart method.

Ya gotta applaud those bunnies for sacrificing their hearing just so some guy in Yonkers can have better TV reception.
