Hi, I'm really into audionics thats right, I made up the word, I'm pretty sure that there are some people here that are too. So post a picture of your home theater or sweet stereo so I can check it out. Videogames too if you want.

I hate uploading pictures, but I will try to get mine up.

My family's Specs: 4 Sonance Sonamp 2120 Power Amps, 4 Sonance Sonamp 260 Power Amps, 3 Audioaccess Multi Room Amps, 3 Adcom Model Gfa-5552 Power Amps, 2 6 Sonance Speaker Distribution System- 4s. And some power Distribution Systems.

I will have to go with rickey939's example on this one. A nice radio is good to have but the wires and the hassle of always making sure its off when you leave the computer. I remember when i was first introduced to mp3s, my friend told me something I will never forget, "These will replace your radio." Who would have thought it came true.

Although i think i would be signing a different tune if i did not have an Imac, since the speakers on it are more than adequate for me. I mean those cheap speakers that dell gives you are a freaking joke. ugh!! and soooo ugly. anyways... here is my pic for the pile.

Damn, I need to put up a picture of our College iTunes Server. It has several weeks of nonstop music. (All legit, ripped from staff CDs.)

We're going to be one of the first Community Colleges to join the iTunes University system after we sent Apple a letter and pictures of our "iRack," a converted Indigo-iMac-to-Rackmount server that distributes the music around campus.

I dunno if they just felt sorry for us and our little iMac That Could. So they're sending us a free XServe just for the iTunes University program. It's gonna be killer.

Amp: Bottlehead S.E.X.perimenter (with 6dn7 lamps) nested on a Jerusalem Gold craddle.
Speakers: Pair of Fostex 206es-r mounted Open baffle style (soon to be mounted on suggested enclosures).
Source: iTunes, 54.5 days of music (17666 songs and sounds)

Project: Audio Note DAC kit 2.1, modified

I turned myself to the DIY arena and love every minute of it.

Ya I get the same reaction. Nobody knows what the hell the Sub is thinking it looks like a jellyfish. They all love it though.

Mine are also the USB version and they are still kicking strong for when I got them in 2000 to go with my Cube. They got migrated to my G5.

I'd easily buy them again if I had to.

Yeah, I'm thinking of getting the new ones. My old ones are falling apart (having travelled all around the world with me).

Not too keen on the blue bits though.

I still use the USB ones. Love 'em.
Not sure why everyone has moved away from USB audio. I find it very convenient. One plug to connect all my peripherals (iPod, printer, CF card reader, speakers).

Nothing fancy, and it's all four or five years old.

32" Sony Wega HD tube
Denon AVR-2802 receiver
Infinity Alpha 50s for front, Alpha 10s for rear and Interlude IL100s sub.

Those Leviton jacks are great. I get cleaner sound with them going over cat-5 cabling than I did when running my own 18 gauge through the attic of my previous house (which is where the photo was taken).

Well here is mine.

It is a Marantz stereo with 100 watts per channel. The speakers are energy speakers (5 of em) and i love em to death. Don't really listen to much music on it only TV and movies but it does a good job at it.

ive got a stereo system that i bought when i first moved out of my house. it was before i was into digital music AT ALL, about 1998 i think. it was a lifelong ambition of mine to own a "nice" stereo system like my dad always had growing up.

i dont know the model numbers, but i have a yamaha headunit and tape deck, nakamichi CD player, and a technics turntable (for those record things). for speakers just 2 cerwin vega SE30 speakers (big suckers with woofers/tweaters/etc).

lately i just use the stereo as speakers for itunes/ipod. never turn on the CD player or tape player. use the turntable to encode some vinyl that i can't find a digital version of. ive thought about just getting rid of it and if i move i probably will.

Ya come to think of it I think my dad had the exact same thing as well. I remember playing with that wheel on the right all the time.

Either it is in the garage or garbage. Wonder if they are worth anything today.

It's possible that he lives in a lower apartment, or his TV room is in the basement of his house.

They look cool, they sounded cool in the store... they're not cool. Well OK they're cool sometimes, but they get this really wonky bass sometimes that gets really annoying. Like they just like HMMMMMMMMM, at some points like... it's weird. It happens more at home, I dono if it's because they make my desk vibrate or what but they get weird... it's kinda annoying. I prefer the stereo I used to have connected. That said they do impress people the whole touch volume adjustment as well as the fact that I have em set through an AirPort Express

As always late to the party... A self-build amp for now over 10 years, right channel shown, nothing (visual) special approx. 3..4 Watt output. I could ask Spliffdaddy for a new case

What kind of speakers can you drive with a 3-4 W amp? That seems to be too weak for simple 2-way speakers …

High-end unworthy JBL's LX800, I think 92 dB/W.. Anything in the 90's will do, I had some Klispch Belle's once, that was loud!

Hmmm, my Marantz receiver is also not terribly strong (4x17 W or 2x34 W), but still has significantly more power. It's more than sufficient for my current speakers, though (Wharfedale 70th anniversary speakers).

Don't you have to crank up the volume all the way to have an acceptable output? (I'm just curious )

Yes, not to hold a party of course, but loud enough to irritate yours neighbours at 10pm. Besides I suffered a serious tinnitus problem a couple of years ago, so loud music over a period is definitely out of the question... But yes, I have to crank them almost all the way up (80%?).

I forgot my input source (besides Airtunes):

The design alone is a piece of art
I wish I had some good input source for mine (most of the time, I'm just using my iPod nano, but eventually I want a nice input, streaming the music from my Mac to my stereo sounds like a good idea; the Airport Express' basestation's output isn't too good, though, I have heard).
