I didn't, not until the Powerbooks went G5. Seems like a mistake because they have completely devalued their PB 12"

(Firewire 800 blah blah blah I know. Is it worth the extra cost?)
If after 6 months no WMD are found, people who supported the war should say ["You're right, we were wrong -- good job"] -- and move to impeach Mr. Bush."

I really don't know how much I agree with your statement about killing the 12" Powerbook model.

Apple has consistently had overlap between the iBook and Powerbook lines since the 12" Powerbook model was introduced. Also, do you really think that Apple minds selling a 14" iBook in place of a 12" Powerbook? I doubt there's a huge difference in margins at that pricepoint.

The 12" Powerbook has its own niche, as do the iBooks.

nope. I thought we'd get 1ghz 133fsb g3's or something. Heh, I even thought we might get a 1280x800 widescreen 13" ibook. Either way im happy with mine's G4

The previous iBook iteration was most certainly out of spec with the rest of the Apple lineup.

I wasn't really suprised to see a G4 iBook, but I was suprised at the configurations. I understand the reasons for limiting the 12" model, but it does seem a shame.
