During his statement this morning this dummy didn't even express his condolences to the dead in the Minnesota bridge collapse, he spent more time slamming the Dems. than on the loss of American life.

Stevesnj: who cares? Do we really need more empty platitudes from politicians? Do you really need to hear all of the usual clichés? Will this really affect anybody's opinion of the man at this point?

You know, a politician that offered the opposite of these platitudes would make for a great SNL sketch!

"You know, I never did like that bridge anyway, I always said to myself 'go to hell, bridge'.. What are we all worried about? You can go worry about your stupid bridge, I have other things to worry about right now"

Or something like that...

Would be nice to say something to the families while he was on the subject. It's only the mature thing to do but your right I shouldn't expect such a thing from this person.

I don't think it's necessary at all. More people died yesterday from smoking, auto crashes, diabetes, cancer, heart disease, etc. Do you expect the President to make daily condolence speeches? Nothing makes those victims any more deserving than the countless others who died without fanfare.

I don't care about what he says. I care about his actions. If he does what he can to support whatever the state needs to deal with this problem, he'll have done good.

Clearly the bridge collapse was due to the proliferation of gay marriage and liberal judges. Not to mention the capital gains tax.

My fellow Americans,

I would like to extend my condolences to those that have lost loved ones in the tragic collapse of the bridge in Minnesota. As you are well aware, I do not personally inspect bridges to determine thier safety. However, I am fully aware that some of you will blame me for the failure of that bridge and the loss of life that came with it.

I would also like to take the time to inform the American people that we will commence bombing the living crap out of Iran in twenty minutes.

Thank you.

G.W. Bush

Care to elaborate why anything he would have said would have actually mattered?

I think Bush sucks ass big time, but this is really a non-issue.

Maybe they'll send Ted Kennedy.
He has the most experience with cars under water near bridges.
All men are created equal, but what they do after that point puts them on a sliding scale.

This is not a federal issue. This is a state issue. It is devistating yes, but not on a national level.

A national issue is 100 US citizens dieing in auto accidents on US roads every single day. I think I read that 40,000 US citizens die on US roads every year. This is a huge issue. The only reason nothing is being done about it is because it is spread out over 50 states and no one hears about all the deaths together. It's always one or two here and one or two there.

It's just one bridge. When the Northridge earthquake hit here in California, I don't remember Clinton rushing out here throwing money around. He was too busy getting a hummer from Monica.

It took over 2 years and the state had to fight for the money:

More than two years after the Northridge earthquake jolted Southern California, the Clinton Administration announced today that it would pay $932 million to Los Angeles County to help rebuild or replace four local hospitals.

I just learned that the federal government is responsible for interstate highways. Bush paid a visit to the wreckage today. Here is an excellent opportunity for him to make true to his word to fund the repair of this damage.
