An old, OLD tee shirt says "Jesus Saves...But Esposito scores on the rebound!"
You gotta be 1) old and 2) a fan of the correct discipline to get this one, but I think it's timeless!

Oh, and for the record, Jesus is quite awesome and stuff.

Being in debt and celebrating a lower deficit is like being on a diet and celebrating the fact you gained two pounds this week instead of five.

A sense of humor is one thing, blatant disrespect, such as the .gif linked, is entirely another.
How would you feel if someone made fun of your friend who was tortured and murdered, making light of the fact? Not very funny then, eh?

Actually I wouldn't care. Being offended about some off-color humor does absolutely no good and serves no purpose other than to feed an ego. It's just fatuous.

Right, so you wouldn't be offended by anything anybody said "humorously"....
I believe people have a right to express themselves, no matter how opposed to my views they are. I'm not going to get all worked up over some such expression and I won't be losing any sleep because of it.
However, I won't support expression which is disrespectful to others' religions or beliefs. Doing otherwise would be fatuous and disingenuous. Also, I find that it is usually the instigator who seeks to feed his ego.

Fine. Can we still make fun of Moses though? Cause he was Jewish so it doesn't count right?

I know that I am safe with him. The only way to the father is through Jesus Christ. Must build up a relationship of true honesty and faith.

Absolutely not. Why would I get worked up over someone else's actions? By demanding that someone else be reasonable I am in turn being unreasonable myself.

It's not a matter of supporting or not supporting something, it's a matter of not taking things too seriously. This "easily offendedness" just gets in the way of enjoying life. Someone can only disrespect me and offend me if I allow myself to be offended and feel disrespected, and who am I to demand respect from those who aren't willing to give it? Why should I care? Why should any of us care? How are they hurting me with their meaningless words? I mean this in the most light-hearted and positive sense.
Also, I find that it is usually the instigator who seeks to feed his ego.
I would absolutely agree.

Capital 'F' in Father.
(and it was Kenny Dalglish that scored on the rebound in 1980's England)

So anyway....
What's to be offended about in any of this? From my readings I'd say that Jesus not only had a sense of humor, he probably was self-efacing enough to be able to laugh at himself. "Gee, did you see how I trashed those vendors and money changers in the Temple? Boy did I lose it there or what? Do you think I overreacted? Maybe I could have just yelled at them. I must have looked like a total nut case!"
My favorite portrait of Jesus came from Playboy Magazine. It's called "Laughing Jesus"
This seems to fit with everything He did (as documented in the Gospels) much better than some dreary, sad and despondent image.
