Sill not perfect, but it makes it all the more tempting in my eyes. Anyone out there changing their minds due to the $30 drop?

It pushed me over. I was poking around to see if I could find a better price at a reseller, but I also took the time to check the Apple Education store. Yesterday, the iPod wasn't even available via the Education Store. I'm curious to see when it will arrive.
FWIW, I was about to buy a Nomad last week. Good thing I waited!

Another thing I noticed just now:
From Apple's website for Education:

Qualifying Purchases
Education individuals making personal purchases may buy one each of the following per academic school year (July 1 - June 30):
� Power Mac or iMac
� PowerBook or iBook
� Display
� Printer
A maximum of two per software title may be purchased per academic year.

The iPod is not listed. I wonder if it falls under one of the above categories, or if this page just hasn't been updated yet.

That did it for me too. It basically covers sales tax. Got my order in so I can get the iPod for my wife for Christmas.
