This is probably a dumb question. But can I save music to my ipod that is not backed up on my computer? Why I ask this is my home system died and I don't have any more room on my work computer. Thus, I'd like to save some CD music to the ipod without having to keep it saved on the work computer. I hope to have all this resolved in a while, but wondered if this was possible. thanks for any advice.

Mark,
do you save them via the mass storage option? Can you listen to them when they are saved in that capacity?

Keith, the only way to do this is by loading the music you want onto your work computer, synching the iPod, then deleting the music from the computer.

I wouldn't recommend this.
The iPod will probably need to be completely reset eventually, since that is the first step in troubleshooting should any glitches show up. Doing so reformats the iPod and deletes all music and data.
