Anyone in the Minneapolis area, I highly recommend going to the Uptown theator and seeing this absolutely gorgeous film. I'm an anime fan since I was a kid, but this one is probably one of the most visualy mystifying animated films I have seen since Miyazaki's greats.

I just saw it today.
The visuals are impressive. CG effects are well blended with regular animation. The character design is very faithful to the original comic book.
... but, I still don't get it. I'll be a big anime fan once the movies start making a bit more sense. Metropolis, Jinroh, Akira, etc. - I just don't really "get" them. Maybe I should watch them more than once.
My favorite anime is just about anything by Studio Ghibli. Kiki's Delivery Service, My Neighbor Totoro, Princess Mononoke, and the latest, Sen to Chihiro no Kamikakushi (I don't know the English title) are all wonderful. I highly recommend all of them.

I worked on this DVD a few months ago and while I'm not a real fan of the genre, it's pretty amazing visualy. Good story too, but what came out of left field for me was Ray Charles' "I Can't Stop Loving You".
That was a bizarre moment.

Yeah, I saw Sen to Chihiro when I was in Osaka last summer. Great flick.
Personally, I thought the soundtrack was GREAT. I though the whole "I can't stop loving you" part was inspired.
I guess I've just been around Japanese entertainment so long in my life that certain things make more sence to me than other Americans. I can see it.
