Hi. the screen saver portion of seti@home doesn't work on my mac for some reason. and neither does the 'sleep corner' part. the only way i can get seti to run at all is to launch the app.

anyone else had this problem? thoughts on how to fix it?

thanks all.

merry christmas!

to answer my own question - just incase someone else ever has the same problem...

i uninstalled seti and reinstalled it. works ok now. my problem was that i installed seti on a 'data' drive the first time around. i did not install it on my 'osx' drive. by not doing so, the installer couldn't find the correct places to install the screen saver engine, etc. i should have read the install notes more closely. it says to make sure you install on your 'osx' drive. if you don't, your seti will not work properly.

The hot corners work fine for me, but I have a different problem. When it kicks in after the set period of inactivity, it works fine as long as the SETI@Home app is already running. If not, the screensaver starts, then immediately quits, sometimes crashing with an "unexpectedly quit" dialog. These problems began about the time I installed Jaguar, but if there was some incompatibility I'd expect it'd affect many more people than just me. Oh well.

you guys should look into folding@home instead of wasting your computer looking for aliens. folding might actually have some benifits one day.
