The thread here where you clicked on a link and it updated your Computer icon in the Finder window to whichever model you happened to be using?

I did a search and could find it nowhere. The GUI Customization forum didn't even exist yet when this was created, so I'm pretty sure it was here.

I just picked up a Pismo and want to run this script.

Thx. in advance.

I'd imagine that in the time it takes to search the forum and find this link, you could go to xicons.com find a matching icon, download it, and stick it on your harddrive. It would probably give you more selection as well. There are a ton of different icons that all represent your computer.

Candybar will do the same thing, but you've got to provide it the icon. The script thing was written as a hack before Candybar was written, and is kind-of outdated, now.

I remember it. Everyone was supposed to run a command and get back their system information so the maker could set up each type of computer in his script. It was a good idea but I don't know where the thread is now.
