I bought anew 1ghz g4 tower about 5 months ago and ever since ive had it osx has behaved oddly. 10.2.3 was ok, i only got a crash every couple of weeks. 10.2.6 and 10.28 were much worse, with 1-2 crashes a day. Now on panther im getting the same 1-2 crashes a day.
My mac just freezes up for no apparent reason, the mouse cursor is frozen, osx is completely frozen, only the fan in the tower is still moving and i have to hold down the power button to restart. This is really starting to bug me, ive tried repairing privileges, reinstalling osx, scanning the hdd for bad blocks, removing ram, removing usb and i tried to reset the pram, but it just wouldn't do it for some reason. I think ive found the run up to the latest crash in the console, but as there mixed in to the rest of the system.log i'm having a hard time seeing what isn't meant to be there.
