I have an Aluminum PowerBook G4 1.5GHz connected to a newer Apple 23" HD Display and am having a problem when the power goes out in my house. It seems when I have a power outage, the PowerBook goes to sleep as it should, but when power is restored and I try to wake it from sleep nothing happens.

The only way I've found to get the PowerBook to work is to hold the power button down until it does a force shutdown, then restart it.

I'm not sure why this is happening. I'm thinking it has to do with the display being connected. Any ideas how to fix this?

Try waking it up then putting it back to sleep. then waking it up.

also, YOU REALLY need a powerbackup / filter. One surge can fry your PB.

I use an APC BACK-UPS ES 725. prob. gives my about 15 mins of power.
