So this am we had a power outage in my neighbothood, it was out for about 4 hours. When the power finally came back on I tried to start up the machine, but it wont start up. All that happens is the power button light comes on, then immedialty fades out. No fan sound, no hard drive sound, nothing other than the light. The machine was asleep at the time the power went out. It is plugged into a APC UPS, and problem also occurs when plugged directly into the wall. I also unplugged everything from the machine and let it sit for 15mins, no effect.

The machine is a Dual 1ghz MDD G4, running 10.3.9.

Any ideas? Is it fried?

TIA...

reset your PMU with the instructions here:
Power Mac G4 (AGP Graphics/Gigabit Ethernet): Resetting the PMU on the Logic Board
If that doesn't work remove the battery and unplug the computer for about 10 minutes, re-install the battery and hit the PMU reset one time and see if she'll start up.
Never argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
