Well some nice pics but only ????? as text.
what am i doing wrong here?
And who builds the dvd drive that fits in the imac?
This page is written in Japanese and it talks about how to mod. some certain models of Mac from 128k to Yosemite.
Well about the iMac DVD;
1) the author used a ATAPI DVD-ROM, which was put from a PowerBook.
2) He then opened up the iMac and put the internal stock CD-ROM out.
3) He noticed that both the DVD-ROM (from the PowerBook) and the CD-ROM
(from the iMac) are very similar.
4) He then made some changes on the DVD-ROM since the bondi blue eject
buttom is kind of different.
5) Put the DVD-ROM back in the iMac and the Mac OS recognized it. Playing
audio CD and data CD
6) Showing the info panel in the Apple System Profiler. (Internal ATA 1)
The author added that DVD-video is MPEG2 format and the DVD-Player2.0f
mod. version doesn't allow the iMac to play DVD-video since the software
needs at least a Rage128 chip.
That's what the author wrote in the iMac DVD page.
Enjoy!
