I know, not YET.

Those IR lenses don't cost much, but it would make a great addition to the iPhone.

why not just get this

TV-B-Gone: Turn off Any TV! :: TV-B-Gone from Cornfield Electronics

it may not change channels but it turns off annoying tv

A second gadget in my pocket ?

Seriously, a IR lense would cost maybe $ 0.50. The electronics are there, all you need is a 3rd party remote app.

I could see this being a nice addition to the iPhone.

Oh, and on emore thing, you could, of course, use it as a Apple remote for your Mac or AppleTV as well.

would it add much bulk to the iphone? i don't want it to be fatter with more memory gps 3g and now ir
