Howdy all. Very new to Apple. I’m used to running Acid Pro for mixing sound files and music. Is there any program like this for an iMac?
Thanks.

Well, there's GarageBand. But I'm not exactly sure if that's what you mean. If you bought an iMac new, it is probably already installed.

Thanks cwkmacuser. Yes I have Garage band. It looks like it'd be a lot of fun to play with but it's to simple for what I need. Looking for a program with unlimited looping capabilities. With pitch and time shift capabilities. Multiple assignable busses and the ability to foly. ( sink to time frames ) and all at an affordable price (dream LOL)

Good luck. BTW, you could try Logic Express?

GarageBand/Logic is linear, not loop-based.

Take a look at Ableton Live.

It's the defacto standard production/performance tool for loop-based music (like techno/acid/what-have-you).

Sorry it took so long to get back to this. Really digging Ableton Live. However most of the features I wouldn't use because I just work with small MP3 and wave files. But for a band or music production that ROCKS!
And still the best part is it's on an iMac. No more putting up with crashing. Sending your ideas to Window's graveyard of your work.
