I just got Extreme and Express and it work great except one thing.

In living room, where express is, it uses the extends main network form my imac in other room, which is fine.

but it's not extending the guest network. is that normal? seems odd it would not extend also the guest network as well.

Very good question. This is the sort of thing I would ask Applecare but expect them not to know the answer. If you have an AASP locally, I would go and get them to ask service provider support, those guys were always quite good at finding this sort of thing out. I suspect however that the Express does not support the guest network feature and therefore cannot extend the guest network.
I have plenty of more important things to do, if only I could bring myself to do them....

Since the Guest network is implemented as a VLAN, and the Express isn't really built to extend anything that's virtual, it won't work. Here's a very nice explanation (4th post down)of the whole thing in an Apple Support Communities discussion.
