Apparently, Steve Jobs is of Arab descent and Eisner of Disney has outed him as a Shi'ite Muslim. Does this mean he is a terrorist who should be locked up in Guantanamo Bay?

I think that, if this is true, Apple users should force Apple to make Jobs resign.

Given that America is losing lives in Iraq, it's NOT acceptable to have one of the most innovative companies headed by someone who probably has sympathies with terrorists. How can we know he's not 'innovating' new forms of death for American civilians?

This is a picture of Jobs' biological sister, Mona Simpson, who looks just as Arabic as Steve. In her heavily autobiographical novel 'Anywhere But Here' she gives the fathers name as 'Mohammed Atassi'..... CLEARLY A MUSLIM NAME.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for freedom of religion etc, but we are in a war situation, and Steve Jobs' continuing leadership of Apple CANNOT be allowed to continue

...and...?

Regarding your username: "Hinkel" was the name of Charlie Chaplin's Hitler-figure in The Great Dictator.

If Steve Jobs is a terrorist because there's something remotely connected to Arabs in him, can we thus safely assume that you are a fascist and be done with you?

Edit: Oh no, wait, I get it. *I'm* a fascist, because I live in Germany, and I'm even 1/4 Austrian. Or, if I'm not a fascist myself, at least I sympathize with them, of course! Yeah! Gotta go get me some A-rabs, buddy! Yee-hah!

I still think that Eisner was going to say "shthead" but caught himself midway through and covered by changing it ti "Shiite Muslim". That's an old trick.

I originally thought that perryp started the thread in a somewhat misguided attempt at sarcasm, but left out the more obvious markers, leaving everyone with the wrong impression, especially SH, who normally sees these things.

Then, dhinkel started off in what I thought was a continuation of the sarcasm.

Now, I'm not sure at all. If what perryp and dhinkel posted is meant literally, then I am just absolutely flabbergasted. This is EXACTLY what the Nazis did in Germany, and I find it shocking that people would stoop to such low levels. It would make every Moslem fanatic's descriptions of America true.

Words fail me. I would really like to know if perryp and dhinkel meant that literally.

So let me get this right - I'm being called a fascist by a GERMAN and a SWISS (still laundering Nazi loot theolein?)

I've done more research and apparently Steve 'Mohammed' Jobs' father was an Arab political scientist.... do you seriously believe he's on Americas side? Grow up.

And perhaps you anti-semites (spheric and theolein) can answer me this: would it have been OK for a Nazi to head one of Americas companies during WW2?

Whoa-kay.

Point proven; I rest my case.

Can somebody please drag this atavistic McCarthyite - kicking and screaming, if necessary - into the 21st century?

Point 1: IBM did plenty of business with the Nazis.

Point 2: The Bush family - yes, THAT Bush family - did plenty of business with the Nazis.

Point 3: "Anti-semites"? I find it rather difficult to see how you arrive at this interesting conclusion. Because, even if YOU did happen to be Jewish (I don't know, and I don't care), my thinking that you are a complete and utter ****wit doesn't make me anti-Semitic, it just makes me anti-YOU.

Point 4: The only person I am seeing exhibiting Nazi characteristics in this thread is YOU, my "patriotic" friend.

You are not on America's side.

A Saudi billionaire prince owns a 5% stake in Apple too!

Look at their product names, 'iPod', 'iMac'....etc., that sounds a little too much like 'Iraq' and 'Iran' if you ask me.

dhinkel,

Even if Jobs is of Arab descent, What ****ing difference does that make? So in your book, if anyone is a Muslim or an Arab they must be a terrorist, right? You have to be the biggest ignorant ****wit ever to make a post in this forum.

Amazing, absolutely amazing. I honestly thought this was a joke at first.

A more accurate comparison would be "would it have been OK for an aryan or person of German descent to head one of Americas companies during WW2?". I think you'll find that there were many such instances.

Perhaps your "research" missed the fact that Steve Jobs was orphaned soon after birth and raised by a foster family - not that your bizarre connections would have any credibility anyway.

The correct answer is: A! lil'babykitten is a Muslim, but NOT a terrorist. Despite the fearsome reputation of kittens that causes man to shake in fear, kittens are soft, cuddly and cute in reality. Even if sometimes they are a bit bratty.

No, he wasn't ophaned, he was just adopted, probably becuase of the Arab custom of not caring for children and encouraging them to strap explosives to themslves.

HIS FATHER WAS AN ARAB POLITICAL SCIENTIST - the sort of person Hamas and al-Queada get support from.

No, that's not what I'm saying. Not all Nazis killed Jews, and not all Arabs kill Americans, but don't you think it makes a safer world if all Nazis were locked up? .....or are you a Nazi yourself?

I have no idea why you are getting so upset about this persons post. His theory is as absurd, meritless, and paranoid as version's and should be disregarded in the same way. It's not worth getting upset about.

Just because someone is of Arab decent tells you nothing about their loyalties to this country. Good grief, General Abazaid was appointed CENTCOM commander partly BECAUSE he is of Arab decent. It's one of the things that makes him so valuable. It's certainly no reason to question his suitability any more than the fact that Eisenhower's German ancestry would have been. Nor is it for Jobs or anyone else. This is just paranoid rubbish. Ignore it.

There is a glimmer of irony here, however. I mentioned a few weeks ago that some of the "neocons" bristled when asked about their loyalties as Jews on a BBC "documentary" last year. I was told by some of the very people bristling here that questioning someone's loyalty because of their religion is not offensive.

I guess it feels different when the shoe is on the other foot. It is offensive. But when the questioner is just a troll, it's best to ignore it.

OK, any benefit of the doubt that Simey might be giving you is totally blown away by this sentence. It is quite obviously ignorant and very probably racist and definitely hateful.

So? His father was an educated man of Arab background therefore he MIGHT have connections to/support for terrorism? STRETTTTTTCH.

I don't know about in some countries, but in the United States, a person could be a Nazi, Communist, Socialist, Republican, Democrat, Satan Worshipper, Vegan, Pagan or even a corporate CEO and not get locked up for it. Not unless that person commits a crime. We don't lock people up for beliefs.

Ah...I see.

Let's just hope that your father has no Irish or Catholic blood in him, because everybody know's that's the sort of person the IRA terrorists get support from, and I'm sure you'd hate to be fired, kicked out of your home, and deported due to your lineage.

And yes, the Nazis used the EXACT same argumentation you are to deport anybody they wanted. "His father owns a restaurant where Communists get support [read: he served beer to people who paid]." Actually happened to a relative of mine during the Third Reich. Luckily, he managed to avoid the concentration camp and just got some jail time and his restaurant taken from him, but that was probably because Hamburg was a little more liberal than most of Nazi Germany, and possibly because he happened to know the right people (to *only* get jail).

So, sure construe some bizarre argumentation based on lineage or historical affiliation, take Jobs' company, his money, and his job, but do remember to say "Heil" to your ideological buddies on your way out, won't you?

Yeah, but the problem with this, and what distinguishes is from those great version-freaks-and-it-all-turns-into-an-airhockey-&-Pringles-&-cola-party threads is that this is one OFFENSIVE MOTHER****ER of a thread.

funny thing is, I'm pretty sure perryp meant it as a joke.

It's funny seeing everyone getting upset about Steve being called a raghead.

Steve ain't a terrorist but I have heard that he can be a prick. He did (still does?) run his company like an autocracy. He does treat himself like some kind of king when he's on stage delivering the keynotes. He hasn't always been known to treat the women in his life with 'equal' respect. He wears the same outfit everyday (this makes him very suspicious).

I think any of the above traits can be attributed to a person regardless of ethnic background.

Until the guy starts funneling money to terrorist groups or coming on here rattling off on how Bush is Hitler he's ok in my book.

See, there's this little-known concept called freedom. It goes hand in hand with a concept called rule-of-law. Rule-of-law is based on this archaic notion called innocent-until-proven-guilty.

"That it is better 100 guilty Persons should escape than that one innocent Person should suffer, is a Maxim that has been long and generally approved. " -- Benjamin Franklin.

Just curious here -

Didn't civilization start out in the area of the world where Islam is now the dominant religion - therefore most people's roots can be traced to Iraq - therefore everyone is a terrorist?
